KOCHI, Japan - A 19th-century painter's works depicting agonies often seen in a kabuki drama are displayed at night on candlelit folding screens on the shopping streets of Konan, Kochi Prefecture, western Japan, on July 19, 2014. The painter, Hirose Kinzo, is known as Ekin (short for "eshi" or painter Kinzo) and the two-day event as the "Ekin Festival."
