Famous pottery kilns to be fired after 40-year interval

UTSUNOMIYA, Japan - Kilns used by the late Shoji Hamada, a Japanese ceramic artist credited with developing Mashiko town in Tochigi Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, into a world-renowned pottery center, will be fired in February 2015 for the first time in about 40 years.
