Vacancy rate rises at Tohoku temporary housing
ISHINOMAKI, Japan - A prefabricated temporary housing facility in the town of Monou in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan, is seen on Aug. 9, 2014. Increasing number of residents who had taken shelter at the facility since the 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster have moved out, while some 90,000 people still live in this type of temporary housing in the prefectures of Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima.
