Central pillar at Yakushiji tower removed

NARA, Japan - The lower part of the central pillar of the national-treasure east pagoda of Yakushiji, a Buddhist temple in Nara, western Japan, is being removed on Sept. 8, 2014, as the pagoda undergoes a full-scale renovation.
