Afghan election candidates sign agreement on unity gov't
KABUL, Afghanistan - The rivals in Afghanistan's disputed presidential election -- former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah (L) and former Finance Minister Ashraf Ghani -- hug each other after signing an agreement on the formation of a national unity government at the presidential palace in the capital Kabul on Sept. 21, 2014. Under the agreement, Ghani will be named president, while Abdullah will be appointed to a new post of "chief executive officer" with powers equivalent to those of a prime minister.
