OSAKA, Japan - Nankai Electric Railway Co. unveils a prayer room available mainly for Muslims at its department store in the Namba City mall connected to Namba station in Osaka, western Japan, on Sept. 29, 2014. The arrow attached to the ceiling shows the direction of Mecca.

Japan's beloved "Doctor Yellow" bullet train to retire

Central Japan Railway Co. announced on June 13, 2024, that its Doctor Yellow train will be retired in January 2025, with West Japan Railway Co. also planning to retire another train around 2027.
