'Tanghulu' candied fruit vendor in Beijing

TOKYO, Japan - A street vendor (L) sells "tanghulu," a traditional Chinese snack of candied hawthorn on bamboo skewers, in a back alley in Beijing on Oct. 3, 2014. Also known as "bingtanghulu," the snack's name literally means "sugar bottle gourd" in reference to its hardened sugar coating and resemblance to the shape of that fruit. (Photo by Munetaka Yajima)
