JCP's Akamine wins in Okinawa No. 1 constituency
NAHA, Japan - Seiken Akamine, a candidate of the Japanese Communist Party in the lower house election, shakes hands with supporters in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture on the night of Dec. 14, 2014, after being elected in the Okinawa No. 1 constituency. Akamine drew wide support from voters by opposing the central government's plan to relocate a major U.S. military base in the southwestern prefecture.
