Bird flu virus detected in Miyazaki, 4,000 chickens culled
MIYAZAKI, Japan - Local officials of the southwestern Japan prefecture of Miyazaki put culled chickens into bags at a farm where three chickens have tested positive for a highly pathogenic H5 strain of avian influenza. The prefectural government said it plans to complete necessary procedures, including burying roughly 4,000 culled chickens at the farm.
