DPJ to hold leadership election in Jan.
TOKYO, Japan - Banri Kaieda (R), the outgoing leader of the opposition Democratic Party of Japan, and other party executives hold a meeting at the DPJ's headquarters in Tokyo's Nagatacho district on Dec. 16, 2014. The DPJ decided to hold a presidential election in January to choose a successor to Kaieda who failed to retain his Diet seat and announced he will step down.
