Iraqi refugee children vulnerable in intense winter
TOKYO, Japan - A boy carries a younger child in his arms on Dec. 9, 2014, in a mountain range in northern Iraq where they and other refugees fleeing attacks by Islamic State extremists are sheltered. Young refugee children, often seen walking around barefoot or in sandals due to the lack of warm clothing and other winter supplies, are most vulnerable as freezing weather approaches the region.
