Iraqi refugees from extremist attacks face intense winter
TOKYO, Japan - Refugees fleeing attacks by Islamic State extremists live in abandoned houses in a mountain range in northern Iraq on Dec. 9, 2014, using plastic sheeting to cover windows and other broken parts. Many are faced with intense cold weather, including snow and freezing temperatures, without adequate warm clothing and other winter supplies.
