Thousands of women in red surround Diet in protest
TOKYO, Japan - Thousands of women dressed in red form a human chain near the National Diet building (C in the back) on Jan. 17, 2015, in protest against Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's allegedly hawkish national security policy. Taking a cue from Iceland's Red Stockings movement in the 1970s, the protesters each wore something red to express their opposition against the government.
