Japanese doll Licca-chan helping Fukushima reconstruction

FUKUSHIMA, Japan, May 24 Kyodo - Yoshino Hakata, a member of the staff at Licca-chan Castle, a theme park in the town of Ono in Fukushima Prefecture, looks at messages on the walls of the building written by visitors to encourage local people to overcome the 2011 nuclear and earthquake-tsunami disasters, on May 6, 2017. Licca-chan, Japan's long-selling popular dress-up doll, has proved to be a strong tourist magnet supporting reconstruction of the prefecture from the disasters.
