Sakurajima volcano spews smoke to over 4,000 meters
KAGOSHIMA, Japan - Active volcano Sakurajima Island in the southern Japan prefecture of Kagoshima spews smoke and ash to more than 4,000 meters after an eruption at Showa Vent on April 9. Part of the smoke and ash flew over the sea and hit the nearby city of Kagoshima causing problems for residents.
