STORYLINE:
The protection of birds has led to a rise in the number of migratory birds flying across an expansive mountain range in central China.
The Luoxiao Mountains on the border between China's Hunan and Jiangxi provinces are located on an important migration route for migratory birds.
However, bird hunting was once commonplace in the area.
In 2012, local governments stepped up measures to stop hunting birds.
In the same year, the first rescue station for migratory birds was set up in Yanling County, which has since been operating around the clock.
