Working in his studio in a calm rural area at the northern edge of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, Dr. Hadi Hamza, 68, a retired professor of sculpture, was busy finishing one of his artworks. As many Iraqis are suffering in their lives, Hamza believes that the mission of creative artists and thinkers at any time and place is to provide their communities with joy, interaction, and inspiration to push their communities to engage thoughtfully and take initiatives to rebuild life through generating tolerance and mutual respect.
