Organized by the Tulip Promotion Netherlands (TPN), the National Tulip Day marks the beginning of a new tulip season. A highlight of the festival is for people to pick tulips for free in a huge picking garden with more than 200,000 tulips. This year the picking garden is set on the Museum Square in Amsterdam, where a fire show and a live band performance were staged. The picking garden is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. local time to pick tulips for free. This year marks the 10th year that the National Tulip Day is held.
