STORYLINE:
Local officials said on Tuesday that the Monday mass shootings in Half Moon Bay, Northern California, appear to be a case of workplace violence.
According to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, the only known connection between the 66-year-old suspect and the victims is that they may have been coworkers.
The mass killing took place at two mushroom-growing locations. Multiple victims were found in both scenes.
The victims, seven men and one woman, were Asian or Hispanic.
A semi-automatic handgun was found in the suspect's vehicle. The Sheriff's Office said the firearm was legally purchased and owned.
