STORYLINE:
The main structure of the first 270,000-cubic-meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank in south China's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was completed on Tuesday, according to Chinese oil giant China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).
It is part of the phase II construction of the Zhuhai Jinwan LNG station.
With five 270,000-cubic-meter tanks under construction, Phase II of the station is set to be completed and put into operation in 2024.
Phase I of the station is already in operation since 2013.
Together, the station can process 7 million tonnes of liquified natural gas annually.
