"I'm currently in the capital Damascus, but on my way to the northern city of Aleppo, which was hit by a devastating earthquake a couple of days ago.
Before the earthquake, Aleppo actually was a major battleground between the rebels and the Syrian government, but the situation there largely calmed down in 2016 when the government took control over the provincial capital of Aleppo. But still, destruction is still there.
