The measures impose a limit of 230 liters per person per day, as well as a 40 percent reduction in water use for agricultural purposes and a 15 percent reduction for industrial and recreational uses. The measures will affect nearly 6 million people. Watering public and private green spaces is prohibited, as is cleaning streets with potable water.
