More than 30 wild milu deer were recently seen at a coastal wetland in Rudong County, east China's Jiangsu Province.
Dafeng Milu National Nature Reserve, which is about 70 km away from the wetland, confirmed that it earlier released this herd of milu deer into the wild.
Milu deer, also known as Pere David's deer, are endemic to China.
It's a species under first-class protection in China.
It was on the edge of extinction in the early 20th century due to overhunting and habitat loss.
