Some locals in the Gaza Strip have launched charity initiatives to cook food for poor families during the holy month of Ramadan.
The organizers said that "such meals can help the needy families to prepare food for their kids during Ramadan."
Walid al-Hattab, a 58-year-old Palestinian man, cooks a soup called "Garisha" with minced wheat, lamb meat, and onions, for the poor families in the poverty-stricken al-Shujaeya neighborhood in Gaza city during Ramadan.
