A newborn wild camel was spotted by surveillance cameras at the Annanba Wild Camel National Nature Reserve in western China's Gansu Province on Wednesday.
Video footage showed a brown-and-black baby camel and three adult camels drinking from a small pond in the reserve.
During this time, the adult camels looked up from time to time and kept the young camels in the middle.
The wild camel, also known as the wild Bactrian camel, is a critically endangered species and is a first-class national protected animal in China. Currently, the total number of wild camels is much lower than that of pandas.
