At least four people were injured when a blast went off in Pakistan's southwestern Quetta city, police and health officials said.
A police vehicle was passing by when the explosion occurred in the Sariab Road area of Quetta, the provincial capital of the southwestern Balochistan province, police officials in the area said on Monday.
Police said terrorists wanted to target a Station House officer in the bomb blast, who, however, remained unhurt in the incident.
The explosive material was installed inside a pole beside the road to target the police vehicle, said the police.
Security forces and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital immediately after the explosion.
Security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation.
