The station is designed to have a total floor area of 19,985 square meters and can accommodate up to 1,500 passengers at a time, according to the China Railway Harbin Bureau Group. The station is on a high-speed rail line linking the provincial capital of Harbin with the city of Yichun. After the completion of the whole rail line, the travel time between Harbin and Yichun will be reduced from seven hours to two hours. Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Harbin, China.
