STORYLINE:
Jiaohe Ruins is the world's longest-lasting and largest relics of a clay-built city in Turpan, China's Xinjiang.
Covering an area of about 376,000 square meters, it was once a magnificent city along the ancient Silk Road.
From 2006 to 2017, four rounds of reinforcement and maintenance work have been carried out successively in the Jiaohe Ruins with a total investment of over 100 million yuan (about 14.9 million U.S. dollars).
Lu Jicai joined the protection work from the very beginning.
