Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera has said the impacts of Tropical Cyclone Freddy are far from over.
He said that the southern African country needs an additional 700 billion Kwacha (about 683 Million U.S. dollars) for recovery and reconstruction alone.
According to the President, it is estimated that damage and losses caused by the cyclone exceed 500 million U.S. dollars.
Workers in Malawi rallied Monday like fellow counterparts across the world to mark the International Workers' Day.
