STORYLINE:
Renewed fighting in Somalia has forced hundreds of thousands of families away from their homes since the beginning of the year, a key reason why the country now has a record of 3.8 million displaced people.
According to data by the Protection and Return Monitoring Network, out of the 822,000 people displaced between January and March, 429,000 were a direct result of the fighting. Nearly 250,000 people were displaced due to drought, while floods uprooted roughly 130,000.
The country has been reeling from one of its worst droughts in years.
