Ambassadors or representatives of more than 30 countries to New Zealand and New Zealand Member of Parliament Naisi Chen gathered at the Chinese embassy in New Zealand and tasted Chinese tea.
The event, dubbed Tea and the World, was held to enhance cultural exchanges between China and other countries.
The participants enjoyed the Chinese Gansu canned tea brewed by a Chinese tea artist from Gansu Province, northwest China, and appreciated the display of Chinese tea culture with great interest, experiencing the profoundness of Chinese tea culture.
China is the hometown of tea but now tea belongs to the whole world, Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Xiaolong told the audience.
In 2019, the United Nations designated May 21 each year as International Tea Day to promote tea production
