Qomolangma STORYLINE: A Chinese climber on Thursday successfully glided off Mt. Qomolangma from the South Col to the base camp area from the Nepali side. Li Shengtao flew his solo unpowered paraglider at an altitude of 8,000 meters from the South Col at 09:14 local time and landed at 09:38 at the designated area around the base camp at an altitude of 5,400 meters, according to the five-member Chinese team.
