Mexico City Authorities Set Up More Temporary Shelters For Migrants

Workers from the Ministry of Inclusion and Social Welfare get ready to distribute food to migrants inside a shelter in the San Luis Tlaxialtemalco Forest on May 26, 2023, in Mexico City, set up by the National Institute of Migration and the Ministry of Inclusion and Social Welfare to expedite a process for dozens of migrants that allows them to stay longer in Mexico given the difficulties that their compatriots are having to enter the United States. Also, they are waiting for a permit or ''Visitor's Card for Humanitarian Reasons'' that allows them to transit national territory between 45 and 90 days and continue on their way to the border.
