STORYLINE:
SpaceX Dragon cargo spacecraft docked to the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday with over 7,000 pounds of new experiments, new solar arrays and other cargo.
The spacecraft autonomously docked to the station's Harmony module at 5:54 a.m. Tuesday Eastern Time, according to NASA.
The Dragon was launched on Monday from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida as part of SpaceX's 28th contracted commercial resupply services mission for NASA. It will spend about three weeks attached to the space station before returning to Earth with cargo and research.
The mission carries scientific research, crew supplies, and hardware to the space station, including the next pair of ISS Roll Out Solar Arrays.
