San Juan Festivities - Alicante

Cremà de las Hogueras de San Juan, on June 24, 2023, in Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain. Although the bonfires of San Juan are celebrated as a tradition on the night of June 23rd to 24th, the city of Alicante chooses to consider that the bonfires of the night of San Juan should be made during the last hours of June 24th and the first hours of the following June 25th. Despite the different days on which it is celebrated in each province, the Night of San Juan represents a pagan festival of worship to the Sun, as a tribute to harvest time and as a purifying element.
