"Violence continued in France overnight after a police officer shot dead a 17-year-old teen on Tuesday in Nanterre, western Paris suburbs.
Protesters, mostly minors, have torched cars, damaged infrastructure, and clashed with police in an outpouring of rage.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin announced on Saturday that 45,000 police and gendarmes would be out in force across France at the 5th night of rioting.
Continuous violence broke out overnight in several French towns, although the situation appeared less tense overall than the previous day. Darmanin confirmed that reinforced policing measures would be put in place in the evening in Marseille and Lyon.
