CHINA-HUBEI-LANDSLIDE (CN)

(230709) -- WUFENG, July 9, 2023 (Xinhua) -- Staff members install power supply equipment at the landslide site in Yueshan Village under Tujia Autonomous County of Wufeng, central China's Hubei Province, July 8, 2023. Five people have been rescued while nine others are still missing after a landslide hit a highway construction site in central China's Hubei Province Saturday, local authorities said Sunday. The landslide of more than 500,000 cubic meters struck the construction site in Yueshan Village, Tujia Autonomous County of Wufeng, at around 4 p.m. Saturday. As of 8 a.m. Sunday, a total of five people had been rescued, according to the county's latest statement. Rescue operations are underway. (Xinhua)
