According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi recorded a rainfall of 153 mm within 24 hours, ending at 8:30 am on Sunday. This marked the highest rainfall ever recorded in the month of July since 1982, shattering the previous 41-year record. The heavy downpour caused waterlogging in several areas of the city, making it difficult for vehicles to move and impacting the public transportation system.
