The port suspended passenger customs clearance in April 2020 due to the pandemic. Jimunai is an important land port connecting China's Xinjiang and Kazakhstan. Official figures show that import and export trade value via Jimunai Port hit 4.04 billion yuan (about 0.57 billion U.S. dollars) this year as of May 15.
