Cyprus Marks 49th Anniversary Of Turkish Invasion
Antroula Aristodemou is standing next to the grave of Kyriakos Karetsos in Nicosia, Cyprus, on July 20, 2023. She had hosted Kyriakos's mother in Kerynia just before the invasion, and after Kyriakos's mother died, Antroula has been coming every year to honor Kyriakos and other killed soldiers. The memorial service for the soldiers killed during the Turkish invasion on 20th July 1974 is taking place today at Makedonitisa Tomb.
