STORYLINE:
The number of the migrants of various nationalities who had been abandoned recently in a tractor-trailer on the Jaltipan-Cosoleacaque highway in Mexico's Veracruz was updated to 172 from 148 on Saturday.
According to a National Migration Institute (INM) statement, among those rescued were 27 unaccompanied minors from Guatemala, Honduras, and Ecuador, as well as 44 families consisting of 105 individuals from Guatemala and Honduras.
Additionally, there were 40 single adults from Guatemala, Bangladesh, Honduras, and Ecuador.
Mexico lies along the migrant route connecting Central America to the United States. Migrants often travel in cramped back of tractor-trailer heading for the U.S.-
