STORYLINE:
Cuba received the first batch of group tourists from China since the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday.
In February, China resumed outbound group travel to 20 countries, including Cuba.
Elizabeth Vela Jaime, the tourism counselor of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) in the Asia-Pacific region said that her country intends to double the number of Chinese visitors in the short term. Cuba has increased its efforts in promoting its attractions in nature, culture, health and nautical tourism, among others.
