QINGDAO, CHINA - AUGUST 29, 2023 - A ''supermoon'' appears in the night sky over the West Coast New District in Qingdao, Shandong province, China, on the evening of August 29, 2023. A supermoon is a perigee full moon. For this supermoon, the perigee occurred at 23:54 on August 30, when Earth and the moon were only 357,181 kilometers apart. The moon is at its fullest on August 31 at 9:36 am, when the sun, Earth and moon line up in an approximate line.
