Blue supermoon rises behind Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC
The blue superman rises beyond the Jefferson Memorial on a cloudy night in Washington, DC. A blue moon is the second full moon in a single month, and a blue supermoon is a second moon at perigee in a single month. A blue supermoon occurs is a rare astronomical phenomenon that will not happen again until 2037. Much of the east coast of the United States was covered in clouds as a result of Hurricane Idalia.
