Royals At 600th Anniversary Of Privilegio De La Union - Pamplona
King Felipe and Queen Letizia, accompanied by the mayor of Pamplona, Cristina Ibarrola (1r), visit the Cathedral of Santa María la Real de Pamplona, on September 8, 2023, in Pamplona, Navarra (Spain). The King and Queen have traveled to Pamplona to participate in events commemorating the 600th anniversary of the Privilege of the Union, a treaty by which the three burghs of the city in the Middle Ages: the City of Navarrería, the Burgh of San Cernin and the Town of San Nicolás, were united into a single entity after having had fierce disputes that included armed confrontations. King Carlos III the Noble, on September 8, 1423, granted what was to be the founding charter of the modern city, the genesis of present-day Pamplona. Photo by Eduardo Sanz/Europa Press/ABACAPRESS.COM
