STORYLINE:
The government and the Olympic Committee of Brunei held a national flag handover ceremony on Wednesday at the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports for the Bruneian Asian Games delegation.
Brunei will send a group of 21 members, including 11 athletes and 10 support staff, to the upcoming 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
The delegation will compete in the disciplines of wushu, karate, and weightlifting.
Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, chairman of the Olympic Committee of Brunei, said during the ceremony that he hoped the athletes seize this opportunity and give full play to the Olympic spirit, striving to achieve excellent results and realizing a breakthrough in medals.
The delegation will depart for Hangzhou in batches starting from Thursday.
