Families Visit The San Andres Mixquic Cemetery, Mexico, On The Occasion Of Saint Michael The Archangel's Day

According to the belief in this area, families gather to guide and invite their deceased to the cemetery a month in advance to spend time with them on the 1st and 2nd of November, placing flowers on the graves or tombstones to protect them against evil spirits, since, according to this day, the devil escapes from his prison, the flowers being the protection of St. Michael the Archangel so that they do not enter the cemetery or their homes, and can return to confine him to the bowels of the earth.
