Afghanistan Suffers Yet Another Earthquake
Caring for the injured, survivors gather outside the overcrowded 65 Herat Hospital in the aftermath of a 6.3 magnitude earthquake that struck Afghanistan's western province of Herat. This seismic event came just days after two massive earthquakes had ravaged the region, resulting in numerous casualties. Herat, Afghanistan, October 11, 2023. The latest, 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck areas northeast of Herat city Sunday morning local time. According to the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as of Monday evening local time, two people were reported to have been killed and over 150 injured in the latest quake.
