Royals Visit The Area Affected Fire Tenerife - Canary islands

The President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo (2l) with The King and Queen of Spain, Felipe VI and Doña Letizia at a meeting with representatives of economic and social sectors affected by the forest fire, at the Asociación Cultural y de Recreo de Arafo, on October 24, 2023, in Arafo, Tenerife, Canary Islands (Spain). During their visit to the island, the King and Queen of Spain learned about the impact of the forest fire that has been raging on the island since mid-August -- it has not been extinguished and there are reactivations -- and which affected more than 14,000 hectares in a perimeter of 90 kilometers across 12 municipalities. During their meeting they met with representatives of economic sectors affected by the fire, in which also participated neighborhood organizations and volunteers. They also visited the mayors of the affected municipalities and afternoon, they attended a ceremony to pay tribute to the crews, personnel, groups and corporations that have intervened in the fire.
