Forest Fire Devastates 2,000 Hectares - Spain
An area affected by fire on November 3, 2023, in Ador, Valencia, Valencian Community (Spain). The forest fire declared yesterday, November 2, in the Valencian town of Montitxelvo has left 2,000 hectares burned and a difficult extinguishing situation due to strong winds. The fire has forced to evacuate about 850 people from several municipalities and urbanizations, including Ador, Vilallonga, Castellonet de la Conquesta, Terrateig and La Font d'En Carrós, and has confined Potries by smoke. Due to the impossibility of the aerial means to join the extinguishing work because of the wind, the presence of the UME and aerial means FOCA has been requested. It has been established the situation 2 of the Special Plan against the risk of forest fires to seriously affect the population and non-forest assets.
